Further Afield
RiNo is also near some of Denver’s best bars in the Ballpark or LoDo (Lower Downtown) neighborhoods. Here are a few of our faves:
Wynkoop Brewing Company – 1634 18th Street – Before John Hickenlooper was Denver’s Mayor and then a US Senator, he was one of the founders of Denver’s first craft brewery more than 30 years ago. Wynkoop Brewing Company is still serving great craft beers and food and offers a billiards room for those who like to shoot pool.
The Velvet Cellar – 1500 Wynkoop Street – Perfect for cocktails prior to a Nuggets, Avs, or Rockies game, The Velvet Cellar is conveniently located near both Ball Arena and Coors Field.
The Cruise Room – 1600 17th Street – Step back to the Prohibition era and step into The Cruise Room at the Oxford Hotel. Modeled after the Queen Mary ocean liner and adorned in an art deco style, The Cruise Room is the perfect place to start or end your evening with a martini.
And on nice days, there are a plethora of cool rooftop bars to enjoy a late afternoon or early evening gathering. Some of the best closest to home include: 54thirty in Le Meridien Hotel or the ViewHouse in the Ballpark neighborhood.
